Tracking the heat

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Santa Fe has received a grant to collect temperature data to better understand how heat is impacting the city. Volunteer scientists will collect data in the morning, afternoon, and evenings of the hottest days. Santa Fe Public Schools will also help with the project, giving students a chance to learn about the climate. The data will help increase understanding of climate change effects across the nation. It will also help Santa Fe communities strategically place trees, playgrounds, and other capital projects. The funds for the grant come from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
