Rio Rancho noise ordinance

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Rio Rancho City Council has signed off on changes to its noise ordinance. It replaces vague language with more specific limits like allowable decibel levels. At Thursday’s city council meeting, many spoke out including Rio Rancho Police Chief Stewart Steele, who said the old system made it hard to cite residents. The council did approve some amendments to the ordinance including extending permissible noise levels over the weekend. It goes into effect July 1st.
