APD hunting for wanted suspect connected to recent officer-involved shooting

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — APD detectives are searching for an 18-year-old who is wanted for shooting at his girlfriend’s house as she tried to get away with her infant child following a domestic dispute.

Alijah Archuleta was charged with several crimes as a result of the shooting on March 29, 2024. The following day, on March 30, officers were alerted that Archuleta returned to the girlfriend’s home and he was armed with firearms. As officers approached the home at 717 59th St., N.W., an officer-involved shooting occurred. Nobody was injured when officers fired shots, and Archuleta fled from police.

Anyone with information about Archuleta’s location is asked to call APD at 505-242-COPS.

Archuleta is charged with aggravated assault upon a household member, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of false imprisonment, shooting at or from a motor vehicle without great bodily harm, and child abuse without great bodily harm or death.
