Rio Rancho, NM (KKOB) — Wednesday at approximately 5:05 pm, a call for service came into the Rio Rancho Dispatch Center requesting officers due to a female being brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
The investigation revealed Pablo Padilla and Desirae Lussow, of Ribera, NM, were driving to Rio Rancho with their three children when a domestic argument escalated. Mr. Padilla retrieved an AR-15 rifle which he stored next to the driver’s seat, and subsequently shot Ms. Lussow in the head. Mr. Padilla then drove to UNM SRMC for medical treatment. Ms. Lussow succumbed to the injury she sustained.
Pablo Padilla has been booked into the Sandoval County Detention Center on an open count of Murder, Reckless Driving, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
