Golf course upgrade

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque’s second largest 18-hole golf course is renovating it’s old clubhouse. David Salas, the City of Albuquerque’s Course Superintendent says the project will lend itself to the community for social events. The more than $700,000 “Cantina” project’s expected to wrap up in May. It adds a lounge area connecting to an existing outdoor patio. The latest investment comes as the city said it’s more than doubled the number of rounds played at Ladera in the last decade. They see around 72,000 rounds a year after putting more than $5 million into solar panels, irrigation and other course upgrades since 2014. The Ladera Golf Course brings more than $1 million in green fees each year.
