Wanted drug trafficker arrested

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The Albuquerque Police Department recently worked an undercover operation in the Southwest Area Command that resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on multiple warrants for drug trafficking.

On March 19, 2024, officers in the Southwest Area Command were working a Problem Oriented Policing Project (POP) in conjunction with officers from the Central Narcotics Unit and GVRU. Through the operation, Jesus Rojas, 33 was identified as having multiple felony warrants for drug trafficking.

Narcotics detectives were able to arrange an undercover transaction with Rojas to meet at a park. Rojas did have another individual with him in his vehicle and after a successful transaction, detectives were able to take both people into custody near the intersection of 86th Street S.W. and Tower Road S.W. 

A search warrant was granted for the vehicle and detectives located the following items inside:

– 2,538 Fentanyl pills

– 27.39 grams of Heroin

Rojas was charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance to wit: Fentanyl (8 counts), Conspiracy to Trafficking a Controlled Substance to wit: Fentanyl and Trafficking by Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit: Heroin and Trafficking by Possession of a Controlled Substance to wit Fentanyl.
