Life behind bars for Kindred

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Thursday in an Albuquerque courtroom, Breon Kindred was sentenced to life behind bars without the possibility of parole. In 2020, Kindred shot and killed Lavon King after he saw King riding what he believed to be his stolen bike on Pennsylvania near Zuni. Police say surveillance video showed Kindred shooting and killing King. Authorities later found the bike in Kindred’s apartment while investigating another case. The jury found Kindred guilty of first degree murder. His lawyer says they are appealing the verdict.
