Albuquerque’s Office of Emergency Management has a new leader

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Albuquerque’s Office of Emergency Management has a new leader. Michael Riley will replace Roger Ebner, who recently retired. The office coordinates responses to emergencies such as the COVID-19 pandemic. Riley is a 30-year Navy veteran with experience in planning and crisis management, the city says. He studied at the University of New Mexico, the U.S. Naval War College, and the National Defense University and served with the State Department and NATO. In response to the appointment, Mayor Tim Keller said, as the largest city within 1,000 square miles, we have a responsibility to provide quality services and coordinated efforts to keep our families safe during crises or emergencies. We look forward to Michael’s leadership.
