NM State Fair is green

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The New Mexico State Fair features plenty of food, entertainment, rides and lots of animals. Along with the animals comes everything they leave ‘behind’. General Manager of the Fair, Dan Mourning says a lots of animals in the form of cows, horses and bulls, results in tons of manure, which has to be removed every day. Adding, the exit trail of the effluent begins with staff filtering out recyclables and then the manure is put into blue bins at gate six. Crews then process, filter and compost the manure before it’s placed across city parks. Mourning reminds the public, when you’re enjoying these parks, remember the State Fair had something to do with it.
