Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Bernalillo County commissioners approved more than $4 million for a new contract for body camera technology provided by Axon Enterprises, which has fulfilled contracts for APD and NMSP. Bernalillo County Sheriff John Allen says the Axon technology will provide for live two-way streaming, automatic license plate readers, and tasers. In addition to the cameras, county commissioners approved an $800,000 medical corrective action plan at the Metropolitan Detention Center, meant to incentivize county employees to work overtime in the jail detox units.
