Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Rock and Roll icon Tina Turner passed away at her home in Switzerland today. She will be remembered for her music, life history and film work. She made one special impact on Albuquerque during her life. In 1985,Turner made a stop in Albuquerque as part of a concert tour. While in the Duke City she donated all profit from the concert, expected to be more than $50,000, to a scholarship fund. Her generosity resulting in 22 high school seniors receiving scholarships from her donated concert funding.
