Money for Isotopes

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — The city of Albuquerque is asking the state for $2 million in capital outlay funding this session and in November will ask voters for another $1.5 million in bond money. The funds would be devoted to fixing up Isotopes Park to meet new Major League Baseball standards that were announced a few years ago. According to the city, some of the needed changes include adding female changing rooms, upgrading dining facilities for players, and expanding the weight room. John Traub, the General Manager for the Isotopes, says that the facilities have to be up to compliance by the MLB’s 2025 deadline.
