Pit Bull attack in Las Cruces

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) —  A frightening experience for two victims of a dog attack in Las Cruces recently.

Crystal Abarca was taking a walk in her neighborhood when she noticed the two pit bulls that were barking at her from behind a neighbors fence, when suddenly they escaped from under their fence and attacked her, dragging her several feet and leaving bite marks on her arm, hand, thigh and chest.

A neighbor who arrived on scene to assist Abarca was attacked as well.

A local animal control supervisor has listed the dogs as “potentially dangerous”, and stated the owner can keep his dogs after fulfilling a variety of requirements, including vaccinating the dogs for rabies, neutering, microchipping, muzzling while off property, and attending socialization training.
