Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A fight on May 27th between Dona Ana County Detention Center inmates, identified as 27-year-old Corey Lee Willis and 40-year-old Samuel Enriquez, has left Willis dead.
Enriquez has been in the Detention Center since 2019 as he awaits trial on charges of felony aggravated battery and tampering with evidence.
Willis had been in the jail since May 8th on charges of concealing identity, a petty misdemeanor.
Aggravated battery charges had been filed against Enriquez, but it is expected they will be upgraded to homicide.
