Impressive oil and gas numbers

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)  —  A “big numbers” report from the New Mexico State Land Office. Reporting that nearly $110 million was earned in monthly royalty earnings from oil and gas leases in April, which was more than any month in state history.

\That number breaking the previous high of $109 million, set in February of 2020.

While oil and gas is a driving force of New Mexico’s economy and the state budget, Stephanie Garcia Richard, the Democratic land commissioner has said that the resources are finite and aren’t a stable long-term budgeting tool for the state.

She has vowed to push for more renewable energy generation.
