BCSO Sobriety Checkpoints and DWI Saturation Patrols to Increase

Albuquerque, NM  (KKOB) – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office will be increasing sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturation patrols beginning now and will continue through the summer months. Deputies will be specifically targeting alcohol and drug-impaired drivers to reduce the number of drunk driving-related crashes and fatalities on our roadways.

The Sheriff’s Office strongly believes in the importance of saving lives through proactive strategies and encourages citizens to take an active role in their community and report suspected drunk drivers by calling 911. As drunk driving-related deaths remain a leading cause of death across the country, we need your help; if you drink, do not drive, and have a plan to get home safe.

Bernalillo County is currently in the “yellow” category of reopening, and we encourage citizens to stay committed to staying safe and healthy through COVID safe practices. We ask that you be mindful of the current public health order and restrictions in place as the weather improves in the coming months.
