State lawmaker eyes run for governor

(Santa Fe, NM (KKOB)–A conservative member of the New Mexico House is considering a run for governor in 2022.

Republican Representative Rebecca Dow of Truth or Consequences tells the Santa Fe New Mexican that, at this point, she’s not saying yes, and she’s not saying no. Dow, who’s 47, says she’ll make a decision after this year’s 60-day legislative session which will begin on January 19th.

Dow has been in the legislature since 2017. She’s been outspoken in her criticism of some of New Mexico’s public health orders that went into place last year as the coronavirus pandemic impacted the state.
