“Take a Ride on Us” program not available this Thanksgiving weekend

Bernalillo County, NM (KKOB)  Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham and state health officials have instituted a temporary statewide health order, closing in-person services for all non-essential activities. Due to the health order, the “Take a Ride On Us” program, offering free Uber rides, will not be available this Thanksgiving Day Weekend.

During the health order, New Mexicans are instructed to stay at home except for only those trips that are essential to health, safety and welfare – such as for food and water, emergency medical care, to obtain a flu shot or to obtain a test for coronavirus (COVID-19).Since the summer of 2017, the Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health Services, the New Mexico Department of Transportation (ENDWI), Ron Bell Injury Lawyers, the City of Albuquerque Department of Family & Community Services, Sandoval County DWI Prevention, Uber and Cumulus Media Albuquerque have been offering a safe ride option for Bernalillo County residents during times of high alcohol usage.

All of the entities in this partnership encourage everyone to stay at home and celebrate responsibly.
