Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — A second chance offered a convicted felon, turned out to be the last chance for Rafael Orozco.
He had taken a plea deal last year after beating his wife and newborn at the Taos Holy Cross hospital in 2017. Facing 17 years in prison for the assault, Orozco took an alternate offer of attending drug treatment instead.
That plan didn’t last long though, as within months Orozco had dropped his treatment program and was arrested again. In addition, KRQE TV reports that he is now facing charges after an Espanola woman has accused him of rape and threatening her with a gun. Orozco now has to face his original 14 year sentence, and the new trial.
