Former Albuquerque attorney sentenced

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)–A former Albuquerque attorney who was featured on billboards and advertisements across New Mexico is going to prison. The Attorney Generals office says Matthew O’Neill has been sentenced to three years behind bars for possessing and manufacturing child pornography.

Prosecutors say O’Neill would download and view child exploitation material on his work computer, and he was detected by his law firm’s I-T department. Agents with the Attorney Generals office then executed warrants and discovered hundreds of depictions of child sexual abuse material.

After getting out of prison, O’Neill will be on sex offender probation and parole for up to 20 years.
