Diversity training suspended

Santa Fe, NM (KKOB)–The U.S. Department of Energy is suspending racial sensitivity training for its employees, including those at Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories. In a letter, the department’s general counsel said the training sessions involved methods and content offensive to employees and their personal values.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the move is being denounced by members of New Mexico’s congressional delegation. Senator Martin Heinrich says halting diversity training prevents important efforts to create more fair and inclusive work environments for New Mexicans.
