Santa Fe couple accused of son’s death through child abuse

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — An Albuquerque Journal story says a Santa Fe couple allegedly did not give their 14-year old son life-saving medical assistance he needed before he died from cancer.

Court documents reveal the father, 54-year old Ramiro Miranda-Quinonez and the mother, 53-year old Maria Urias-Astorga, did not provide the teen medical care the past two years because they did not have Medicaid.

Their son died last week at Presbyterian Hospital with a tumor so big it covered nearly half of his left torso. He only weighed 68 pounds.
