PNM Resources Foundation opens grant opportunity for New Mexico nonprofits

(PRESS RELEASE)

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) — Today, the PNM Resources Foundation announced it is now accepting applications from New Mexico nonprofits for Reduce Your Use grants. Each grant is up to $5,000 and means nonprofits will be able to spend less on electric bills and invest more in providing essential services to the community.

“This year has created new challenges for the nonprofits who continue to provide critical services to the community,” said Lisa Goodman, PNM Resources Foundation president. “We hope the Reduce Your Use grants will provide the opportunity for these organizations to redirect more of their budget into the efforts that align with their mission and serve the community.”

The 2020 Reduce Your Use grants help New Mexico nonprofits complete projects that reduce their energy use, reduce carbon emissions, and lower their electric bills. Funded projects may include efficient lighting, updating heating and cooling systems, window coverings, ceiling fans, energy saving appliances, solar panel installations and much more. The completion of these projects will not only save energy and money, but will also mean a cleaner, healthier environment. To apply, visit PNM.com/community. A total of $200,000 will be awarded. Applications for the grant will close once all funds are distributed.

The PNM Resources Foundation and PNM Corporate Giving together have awarded more than $20 million in the past 6 years to nonprofit organizations.
