Immigration sentencing postponed

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB)–Luis Talamantes, the suspect in the fatal shooting of Jacqueline Vigil in Albuquerque last year, was to be sentenced on immigration charges Tuesday. But the Albuquerque Journal reports that’s now been postponed until mid-November.

The 33 year old Talamantes is in custody in Texas. Federal officials say he fled there after the shooting, and has been held on immigration charges since January.

Talamantes allegedly shot Vigil while she was in her car in the driveway of her home on Albuquerque’s west side. He has not yet been charged in the shooting.
