APD reissues missing person alert for Luis Ortiz

(PRESS RELEASE)

Albuquerque, NM (KKOB) – Albuquerque Police Department is re-issuing this Missing Persons Unit for 45-year-old Luis Ortiz who is still missing. APD’s Missing Persons Unit is asking for your help in locating 45-year-old Luis Ortiz. Mr. Ortiz was last seen leaving his residence at 1616 Summer Breeze Dr. NW. on July 5, 2020.

Mr. Ortiz left in a gray 2007 Toyota truck, New Mexico license plate NST251. Mr. Ortiz and his wife had been arguing and Mr. Ortiz was upset when he left. Mr. Ortiz was also upset over having lost his job. Mr. Ortiz sent messages and made comments to his wife that make her and her family believe that Mr. Ortiz is suicidal.

Though Mr. Ortiz has cell phones with him, he is not returning calls or messages and all calls are going straight to voicemail. Mr. Ortiz could also be in the Las Cruces, Anthony, NM area as he has family in El Paso, Texas. Mr. Ortiz and his vehicle have been entered into NCIC as missing.
