(Albuquerque)-The helicopter from the San Juan Regional Medical Center in northwestern New Mexico is banned from landing at University Hospital for 10 days. The Albuquerque Journal reports UNM Hospital has the only level-1 trauma center in New Mexico.
Meanwhile, northwestern New Mexico has been hard hit by the coronavirus … but that’s not the reason the chopper was banned from landing at the hospital. It’s because of a policy violation early last Sunday morning on the roof of the hospital. The Journal was told by UNM’s Manager for Emergency Preparedness that a pilot is now accused of violating a landing agreement that dictates pilots give notice to UNM Hospital before they take off after dropping off a patient.
