(Albuquerque)-The Lumberton fire in Rio Arriba County is now 30-percent contained. The State Forestry Division’s Wendy Mason tells Newsradio KKOB the fire is burning ponderosa pine and brush…and is on private property. There are six homes that are threatened and two homes that have been evacuated as a precaution.
The fire was reported just before noon on Sunday…and may have been human caused. Officials say multiple resources will continue to secure containment lines around the fire, which had consumed 437 acres at last check.
