Proposed NM Budget Contains Ambitious Measures

THE PROPOSED STATE BUDGET FOR THE UPCOMING LEGISLATIVE SESSION THAT STARTS JANUARY 21ST IS SAID TO BE AMBITIOUS. IT INCLUDES PUBLIC SAFETY REFORMS TO ADDRESS TERRORISM AND MASS SHOOTINGS, LEGALIZING RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA AND TUITION-FREE COLLEGE. THE BUDGET ALSO PROPOSES REINSTATING TAX CREDITS FOR ROOF TOP SOLAR PANELS AND MAKING PHARMACEUTICAL IMPORTS FROM CANADA A LOT EASIER.

OTHER ITEMS ON THE LIST ARE TO SHORE UP PUBLIC PENSION FUNDS FOR GOVERNMENT WORKERS, ADOPT “RED FLAG” GUN LEGISLATION THAT ALLOWS LAW ENFORCEMENT OR FAMILIES TO TAKE GUNS AWAY FROM PEOPLE SAID TO BE DANGEROUS, A TRUST FUND FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION AND PAYING DIVIDENDS ON INVESTMENTS.
