Fireworks stands are open across the city of Albuquerque. Initial sales started on Tuesday. Mayor RJ Berry tells us there is something you can do to make it easier to report illegal fireworks in your neighborhood. He says you should download the city’s 311 app and use it to report any illegal fireworks you see before, during, and after the July 4th holiday.
He says fireworks stands in the city have been inspected and are selling only approved material. If you’re caught using illegal fireworks in the city you will be cited and face a fine of up to $500 and/or up to 90 days in jail.
