Cajete Fire Closes Part of Santa Fe National Forest

The Cajete Fire in the Jemez Mountains is nearly 100% contained now. It’s pegged at 97% containment. The size of the fire remains at around 1,400 acres.

The Santa Fe National Forest on Tuesday issued a closure order for the fire area. That includes all lands, roads, and trails within the fire’s perimeter. That closure order is in effect until July 31st unless otherwise indicated.

The Cajete Fire is thought to have been started by an unattended camp fire.
