An even half-dozen Democrats are now running for Michelle Lujan Grisham’s Congressional Seat in the First District. The most recent candidate is John Abrams, Edgewood town councilor and Mayor Pro Tem for that community. Abrams describes himself to the ABQ Journal as a Progressive and says he has a lot of ideas. He also says he’s a fiscal conservative. Abrams currently manages information systems at UNM’s Valencia campus.

The other five in the running are Albuquerque City Councilor Pat Davis, attorney Damian Lara, State Democratic Party Chairperson Debra Haaland, Albuquerque physicist Dennis Dinge, and Antoinette Sedillo Lopez, President of the New Mexico Hispanic Bar Association.
