There’s going to be a lot less money available for New Mexico Lottery Scholarships next year. Higher Education Secretary Barbara Damron says scholarships will be cut from 90% of tuition to 60% for in-state students. She says students will have to look elsewhere for financial assistance.
Demand for financial aid has outpaced lottery revenues in recent years. About 26,000 college students in New Mexico receive lottery scholarship assistance.
