Acting UNM President’s Contract Extended

UNM’s acting president gets another year on the job. The Albuquerque Journal reports the school has extended Chaokki Abdallah’s contract. He’s been acting president for the past five months. Now he’s interim president for the next full year. Abdallah will stay on the job until May 31st, 2018.

The UNM Board of Regents says he’s done an excellent job as president. Meanwhile, the Regents could name UNM’s next president by October of this year. They’re expected to have a list of candidates to interview by September.
