An independent commission has agreed to set the salary for Santa Fe’s mayor at $110,000 when the position becomes full-time next year. But many think that’s too high. The Santa Fe New Mexican reports there was heckling and shouting from the crowd as the panel made its decision. A ballot measure creating a full-time mayor’s position was approved in 2014 but it said the mayor’s pay would be set at $74,000.
