Attorney General Hector Balderas is now looking into a controversial UNM Athletic Department golf trip to Scotland. The AG’s Office confirms that a letter has been sent to UNM officials, letting them know that a formal inquiry has been initiated. The trip may have violated state law since public funds were used to pay for boosters to go on the golf outing in 2015. The State Auditor is also investigating the matter.
