State Money Issues Remain

 

Money will be particularly tight when New Mexico lawmakers convene in January. The latest figures from the Legislative Finance Committee show state revenues fell by more than 9% in the July to September quarter. And the numbers were down 12% for September alone. A downturn in oil and gas prices is being blamed for much of the deficit. Most state agencies have already trimmed their budgets by 8% this year.
