Just about everything that isn’t a large retail store is closed Thanksgiving Day. Friday is also an off day for schools, libraries, and federal, state, county and ABQ city offices, and the courts. The exceptions are federal offices, which are open Friday, and custody hearings will be held in Metro Court.
As for trash collection in Albuquerque, regular Thursday pickup is on Friday, with Friday pickup on Saturday.
ABQ Ride and the Rail Runner will not operate on Thursday and will be on a Saturday schedule on Friday.
East side and west side animal shelters are closed both days, but the intake desk and reclaims will be open both days. The Lucky Paws Adoption Center in Coronado Center will be open Friday, with half-price adoption fees through the weekend.
And if you need to contact the unemployment insurance call center, it will be closed through Sunday, but the website and self-service toll-free phone option are available.
