Council Discusses Alleged APD Video Edits

Albuquerque City Councilors discuss the allegations of lapel cam videos being altered with APD Chief Gorden Eden and City Attorney Jessica Hernandez. At Monday night’s meeting, Eden and Hernandez told councilors they’d contact federal prosecutors on Tuesday regarding the allegations contained in an affidavit from former APD records custodian Reynaldo Chavez.

The Chief and Hernandez also say they’ll start their own investigation. Eden told councilors that lapel cam footage is retained by APD’s record-keeping system, even if someone tries to change it.
