Did you vote early this year? Hundreds of thousands of New Mexicans did. But UNM Political Science professor Gabriel Sanchez says it’s unclear how that will effect the final voting numbers. He says there’s been a steady increase each election year in the number of New Mexicans voting early or absentee.
Absentee voting numbers are down this year.
Sanchez says early voting numbers have been going up steadily each election, so New Mexicans may simply be casting a ballot early to avoid lines on election day. The polls open at 7 AM tomorrow and close at 7 PM.
