A Metro Detention Center jail guard is acquitted on three counts of sexually abusing female inmates, but the jury was hung on three other counts against Torry Chambers. The jury returned with their verdict after just a few hours of deliberating on Wednesday.
The three counts they couldn’t reach a decision on also concerned sexual penetration. The judge declared a mistrial on those charges.
The State has 10 days to decide if it’ll re-try the case on the charges. Meanwhile, Chambers will still be working at the MDC but won’t have contact with the inmates.
