Run-Down Buildings Targeted

One of the goals of legislation from two Albuquerque city councilors is to bring up property values around the city. The measure, heard in committee last week, gives owners of run down commercial properties a year to get their building in shape. Bill co-sponsor Pat Davis says they keep the property vacant for just one year. He says the measure is also for nearby businesses. Davis says these run down properties are scattered all across town, and the measure is basically a “good neighbor” policy.
