If you need legal advice, you can get it free on Thursday, October 20th, in Albuquerque. District Court Judge Shannon Bacon says she’s been involved with it for seven years. She says she mostly see people facing divorce or custody battles who need advice on how to present themsleves to a judge.
Judge Bacon says the worst thing anyone can do is ignore a lawsuit. She says the consequences are pretty extreme. The judge says Law-La-Palooza provides people with the guidance to what steps are required to address their problem, which will help in the court process.
Judge Bacon says foreclosures are still a problem and she expects 2,000 of them this year.
Law-La-Palooza runs from 3pm to 6pm at Alamos Community Center.
