PROJECT SPOKESPERSON JOANIE GRIFFIN SAYS CREWS SHOULD BEGIN BREAKING GROUND IN LATE JULY. SHE SAYS THERE ARE TWO MAIN COMMITMENTS CONNECTED TO “A-R-T.” ONE IS TO NOT BE IN FRONT OF A BUSINESS FOR MORE THAN 60 DAYS. THE SECOND IS THE ACCELERATED CONSTRUCTION TIME FRAME WITH COMPLETION SCHEDULED FOR THE FALL OF 2017.

Albuquerque Rapid Transit Releases Preliminary Construction Plan

May 31, 2016 – Albuquerque Rapid Transit (ART) has announced the preliminary construction plans by construction segment. Bradbury Stamm is planning to break ground on ART in late July in various sections from Coors to Louisiana. The team is planning to avoid construction in Nob Hill and Old Town during the holidays and is working closely with event planners to coordinate construction with key events including ABQ Pride Parade, Nob Hill shop and stroll and Old Town Holiday Stroll, Route 66 and Downtown Summerfests and the State Fair parade.
The preliminary plan is available online at BRTABQ.com. ART liaisons are reaching out to all businesses along Central Avenue to give them information about construction near their particular businesses.
“The construction team has worked diligently for the past two months to put together an efficient construction plan that will minimize disruption to businesses and residents,” said Mayor Richard J. Berry. “I am extremely pleased that we are working with a local construction firm that is committed to the vision of the project and the positive difference it will make for the city.”
