More good news! Little Max was adopted so will be celebrating the holidays with a new family. Handsome Gunther is enjoying his new living quarters at Lucky Paws in Coronado Center Mall.
Run on over to adopt this fun loving, fetch loving, affectionate dog.
We’ve had some great adoptions this week. It is always so sad when an older dog is left at the shelter. A few of our older dogs were adopted this week and we are so grateful to those kind and loving people that recognize the benefits of adopting an older dog. Our second featured pet is a fun loving outgoing older boy that is tiny so he still has several years to be your very best friend ever.
I usually talk about one medium/larger dog and one smaller dog since we aim to please and can find a match for everyone’s choices but my larger dog was adopted so I’m adding a second little guy that everyone just loves.
Todd (ID# A 1728964) is a 2 year old, male brown & tan smooth coated Chihuahua mix. He only weighs 11 pounds. Yes, like many little guys he is on the shy side and would appreciate a quiet home without children or grandchildren. He has been kenneled with another little guy named Titan for quite a while now. Even though they did not come in together they have become fast friends. If you have another little dog please bring him/her in to meet Todd to make sure they more likely have a successful relationship when in the home. Todd walks well on leash. He does have a bit of playful energy. As you can see in his picture he has a cute little widow’s peak marking on his head. Todd has been hoping for his forever home since he arrived in early November. He came to us when his family had a new baby and he was too frightened of the baby so his family did not think he would do well with it. It has been quite cold this week so our little guys and gals have coats. We are already using some that our wonderful community has donated. I added a holiday bandana for Todd and he is very handsome. You will find Todd in our first building at the Eastside shelter. More than likely he will be curled up in the bed with Titan (he is also sporting a holiday bandana). Perhaps you want two? They walk nicely together…..
Diego (ID# A 1729951) is a 10 year young male blond smooth coated Chihuahua mix. This sweet boy is tiny weighing only 6 pounds. His owner got sick and could not longer take care of him. This is a fairly common occurrence for these older animals. After loosing his parent and home Diego came to us on the shy side but now he is outgoing, friendly and ready to be someone’s very best friend and devoted companion. Diego is a senior pet so if he goes home with a family it needs to be older children. He is just too easily hurt. Little guys of any age are delicate and it does not take much for child to seriously hurt one. Diego loves to take walks and is great on leash so daily walking partner is covered. He also is very affectionate and loves to curl up in your lap or be carried around so cuddle bug and daily kisses….covered. He is a fairly mellow easy going boy so he would enjoy a calmer home. He has attended small dog play groups. As we get older sometimes we don’t enjoy the youngsters bombarding our facial personal space and Diego agrees his buddies need to be polite. As always we highly suggest a meet and greet to ensure harmony in your home. Diego has attended a few off-site adoption events but alas has not been found by his perfect person. He would be the happiest little guy ever to find a safe secure home with his very own dog bed and staying warm in his new home. Diego is in the first building (A) at our Eastside location. If you realize the many attributes of adopting an older companion then he would love to meet you. It has been quite chilly lately so he is sporting a lovely tiny coat to keep him warm on his daily walks with our volunteers. Before I left Thursday I added a festive holiday bandana so he is dressed and ready for his first of many celebrations with you.
