Discipline of our children

The government is now and has been for a while involved in the discipline of our children. Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson is now in hot water concerning the discipline of his young son.  Welts and open wounds were visible on the child, who Peterson says were from lashes with a switch.  Obviously any reasonable person does not want to see child abuse but where is that line.  We all know every child needs to be disciplined differently because not all methods work on all kids.  The line develops on what constitutes discipline and what is abuse.  It appears the days of good old fashion “cut your own switch and bring it here" are over and now your strict granny is a felon.  Like are ever changing social and moral values, the days of hard line discipline are over now as well.  Because of course (read sarcastically) the government knows how to better discipline your child than you do.
