The killing of two homeless men
The killing of two homeless men at Central and 60th this week in Albuquerque is yet another reminder of what can fester when parents do not know or care what their kids are up to. Three teens only one of which is over 18 bludgeoned to death two homeless men and beat another one within an inch of his life, for no explainable reason. The teens also told police they have over 50 incidents beating or bothering the homeless in the past. One of the teens fathers said he could not believe his son would do this, I would ask him “do you even know your son?” Too many parents have a “hear no evil; see no evil” approach to parenting especially with teenage boys which basically gives them a green light to go down a dangerous path. A few years ago many online videos depicted “bum fights” homeless men fighting for dollars then put up on the internet for uncompassionate eyes to ogle over. But those gruesome videos pale in comparison to the horror we had here in Albuquerque as bored teenage boys appear to have killed homeless men for sport.
