I hope you all are able to keep your pets safe and sound this weekend. For those of you that are searching for lost companions please come to the shelter closest to the part of town your pet was lost (Eastside or Westside). If your pet is not there, keep checking back. Perhaps someone found it and just has not been able to bring it to the shelter yet. You can put an advertisement in the newspaper classifieds free for 6 days for a lost animal. People who find lost animals also can put an advertisement in the classified section so check that as well. Lastly we have been told that putting up flyers in your neighborhood with your pet’s picture works. Sometimes people find a lost animal but just don’t know which house it lives in.
Our two sweet little boys Chip & Casper did not find their forever home yet. Looking for true unconditional love? If you are willing to give unconditional love in return please consider these two brothers. This week the dogs and cats just kept coming in and we know we will be receiving many strays due to the fireworks as well as thunder from our blessed rain storms.
This week we are featuring two more little ones….in fact one is tiny and the second is a perfect “fun size”.
Jenn (ID# A 1697436) is a 1 year old, female, black and brown Smooth Coated Chihuahua mix. Jen only weighs 6.3 pounds. She came to us a stray and shy. She is very skinny and is just starting to put a little weight on. She has been kenneled with several different smaller dogs and has done very well. She seems to enjoy the company if not too rowdy. She is highly people oriented. Although she is a bit shy in the kennel due to the larger and somewhat noisy dogs around her if you stop at her kennel door you will see her slowly approach one look will melt your heart. She enjoys taking walk followed by petting and sharing affection. She has a playful side and enjoys some gentle play especially if you are down on her level. Jenn is very small and delicate so no small children please. Sometimes it is hard for young children to determine just how careful they need to be with these little ones when holding or playing with them. Jenn may be young but she is fairly easy going little girl. She would love to find a forever companion of her very own. Just a bit of extra TLC and help gaining a few pounds and this delightful girl will bring much joy to a very lucky person. She will be a truly devoted companion. Meet our sweet little Jenn at our Eastside location.
Mona Lisa (ID# A 1695155) she is a 3 year old, female chocolate tan & white, Smooth Coated Chihuahua mix. She weighs 17 pounds. Mona Lisa has been kenneled with several different dogs. The ladies that run our small dog play groups report that “Mona Lisa is such a fun dog, a real delight”. After we learn about our dogs through interaction and play group we make tidbit cards with the information. Mona Lisa is described as a social butterfly. She enjoys doggie play but is a softer player not wild woman. She does occasionally enjoy a quick sprint around the yard but quickly comes back to be close to the person she is with for some well deserved loving and attention. She is easy to walk on leash and enjoys taking a daily walk. She loves people and is a friendly out going and very sweet dog. She will make a wonderful companion for some very lucky person. Mona Lisa came to us a stray with cherry eye. This was surgically repaired when she was spayed and will diminish in a few weeks. Usually surgery is successful but there is a chance that it could return so her adopter will need to acknowledge this. Sweet Mona Lisa is waiting for you at our Lucky Paws location in Coronado Center Mall. Even though our Eastside & Westside locations will be closed on the 4th of July Lucky Paws adoption center will be open on the fourth. East and Westside shelters reopen usual hours on Saturday July 5th.
