ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) Hot and dry weather is forecast for most of New Mexico on Wednesday, a day after a record-setting high in Albuquerque. The National Weather Service says the high at the Albuquerque airport Tuesday was 97 degrees, breaking the old record for the date of 95 degrees set in 1938.
According to forecasters, dry, hot and unstable conditions will persist across the region with critical fire conditions across western and central New Mexico as well as portions of north-central and northeastern New Mexico.
But some relief is coming late Thursday when a cold front is expected to push into northeastern New Mexico.
