ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) The University of New Mexico's student retention rates are up, and the university's regents are giving President Bob Frank a $25,000 bonus. The Albuquerque Journal reports that the Board of Regents approved the bonus unanimously Tuesday following a close-door session to evaluate Frank's performance.
The retention rate for third-semester students who started at the university in the fall of 2011 was 76.6 percent, up from 74.1 percent the year before. And the graduation rate for the class of 2012 was 45.8 percent, up from 45.1 percent for the class of 2011.
Frank has been president since June 2012, and regents President Jack Forntner says the board thinks he's doing a good job.
