APS Ready For Improvements

IMPROVEMENTS ARE ON THE WAY. MONICA ARMENTA WITH THE ALBUQUERQUE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT SAYS THE VOTER-APPROVED CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT TAX AND GO-BONDS WILL BE USED FOR MUCH NEEDED REPAIRS AND PROJECTS. SHE SAYS THIS ELECTION WAS DIFFERENT THAN THE LAST ONE THAT INCLUDED A TAX HIKE, AN EFFORT THAT WAS REJECTED BY VOTERS.

SHE SAYS VOTERS IN OTHER ELECTIONS HAVE SAID THEY DON’T KNOW HOW THE MONEY WOULD BE USED THOUGH SHE SAYS APS WAS VERY SPECIFIC ABOUT HOW THE FUNDS WOULD BE SPENT AND THERE WOULD BE NO TAX HIKE.

THE MONEY…TOTALLING AROUND 300-MILLION DOLLARS, WILL BE ALLOCATED OVER THE NEXT FOUR TO SIX YEARS.
